The Signing Brief
Signing volume lives and dies with mortgage rates, and almost nobody in this business tells you that plainly. Once a month, The Signing Brief does: a rate-environment snapshot with one cited datapoint, one tactic you can use this month, one reader-style question answered straight, and one piece of gear worth (or not worth) buying.
What you get every month
- The rate check — where mortgage rates sit and what that means for signing volume in the next 60–90 days. This is the leading indicator for the whole business.
- One tactic — a single, concrete way working agents are getting more or better signings. Never ten listicle items; one thing, explained.
- One question — a reader-style question ("should I pay for a second commission county?") answered with numbers where numbers exist.
- One gear pick — something we would actually buy, or a warning about something we would not. Affiliate links are disclosed when present.

Use the form at the bottom of this (or any) page. Email goes through Buttondown; we store nothing but your address, and every issue has a one-click unsubscribe. Details in the privacy policy.
buttondown.com/REPLACE_WITH_BUTTONDOWN_USERNAME (address goes live once the newsletter account exists — until then, the form is the way in; it needs no JavaScript either).Issue archive
Every issue is archived here in full, and the RSS feed carries the same content if you prefer a reader.
Why an email list at all?
Because search is getting worse for readers and publishers alike. AI answer boxes increasingly absorb the informational queries this industry runs on. The brief is the part of this site nobody can paraphrase away: it lands in your inbox, it is written by people who publish their reasoning, and it will still work if every search ranking we have disappears.
